Arsenal are now pushing to the front of the queue for the signing of Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Pedro Neto.

Arsenal are thought to be ahead of Manchester United in the race to sign Wolverhampton Wanderers star Pedro Neto in 2024.

That is according to a report from TEAMtalk, who claim that Arsenal have edged ahead of United in the race for Neto.

The Gunners are certainly Premier League title challengers this season but they haven’t been quite as impressive going forward this season.

Mikel Arteta may look for another attacking player in January, but could go for a wide man rather than a centre forward.

Arsenal keen on Wolves star Pedro Neto

TEAMtalk now state that Arsenal and Manchester United both want Wolves star Neto, but Arsenal are more likely to make a move.

It’s stated that Arteta is keen to sign Neto because of concerns about Bukayo Saka.

Saka has picked up a number of knocks and niggles this season given that he plays pretty much every game for Arsenal.

Adding another left-footed winger as competition for Saka on the right side could be a great idea, with Neto now emerging as a top target.

The report adds that Wolves would need an offer of around £60million in order to sell Neto – meaning Arsenal will have to spend big.

Saudi Arabian clubs are interested too but Neto wants to stay in Europe, meaning Arsenal have a great chance of a deal.

Neto injuries have to be a concern

If we are talking about pure talent then yes, Neto deserves to be playing for a club like Arsenal.

Neto wouldn’t look out of place in Premier League title challenges and Champions League clashes.

The 23-year-old has already racked up seven assists this season, despite playing just 10 Premier League games.

Neto has been exceptional this season with Alan Pardew branding him ‘electric’ for such outstanding displays in a Wolves shirt.

The problem is that Neto just keeps getting injured.

The last few years have been difficult for Neto, suffering a number of injury problems – including a hamstring blow last month.

Arsenal may need to be wary of paying so much for a player who suffers regular injury problems, but few would begrudge him the move on his talent.
