Leeds United midfielder Ethan Ampadu is begging Tottenham Hotspur defender Joe Rodon to sign a permanent deal at Elland Road.
Tottenham Hotspur defender Joe Rodon continues to impress on loan at Leeds United this season.
The Whites claimed another victory on Saturday afternoon, beating Middlesbrough 3-2 at Elland Road.
That’s five wins in the last six games for Leeds, who sit third in the Championship table.
Daniel Farke and co are still trying to close the gap to Ipswich Town and Leicester City and Rodon is playing a key role in that push.
Ethan Ampadu begs Joe Rodon to stay at Leeds United
The Welshman joined Leeds in August, penning a season-long loan deal having struggled to nail down an important role at Tottenham Hotspur.
Rodon has Championship experience with Swansea City and is now proving his quality in the second tier once again.
Rodon was hailed after beating Plymouth Argyle last month and he continues to make a big impact at Elland Road.
The 26-year-old racked up two interceptions, two clearances, one tackle and one blocked shot against Boro on Saturday.
Rodon took to Instagram to simply celebrate ‘another important win’ and look towards Leeds’ next game against Blackburn Rovers.
Leeds and Wales international teammate Ethan Ampadu responded in the comments with just two words – ‘please stay’.
Ampadu knows all about Rodon’s quality and clearly believes that he should commit his long-term future to the Whites – just as Ampdu did over the summer after a string of loan moves.
This wouldn’t be a cheap move for Leeds to pull off though with Tottenham reportedly seeking £20million for a permanent move.
Leeds may hope to grind that price tag down, but a permanent move may well hinge on the Whites securing promotion back to the Premier League.
