Tottenham Hotspur are stepping up their pursuit of a new defender with Jean-Clair Todibo in talks and the Premier League giants readying a bid for Genoa’s Radu Dragusin too.
With transfer season usually shrouded by smoke and mirrors, of gossip and speculation, Florin Manea is certainly a refreshing change.
Keen to cut through the nonsense, Radu Dragusin’s agent has taken the somewhat unusual approach of detailing every single step of his client’s journey out of the Stadio Luigi Ferraris, confirming talks with Newcastle and Arsenal while adding that Tottenham Hotspur were sending scouts to watch the Romania international during Friday’s clash between Genoa and Juventus.

“I don’t know if I can say that the transfer is imminent, but there is a lot of interest. I had a discussion with Tottenham. They told me they were interested in him,” Manea told Digi Sport.
“They will also be at the game (last week).
“There are a few more clubs from Germany, a few from the Premier League. I believe that, if something can be achieved, it will be in the Premier League.”
Tuttomercatoweb report that Spurs are now ready to take their interest to the next stage. It is believed that Genoa will not stand in Dragusin’s way should one suitor meet his £25 million asking price. Whether Tottenham will go that high remains to be seen, but TMW insist that Ange Postecoglou’s side have an ‘offer’ ready and should be able to comfortably outbid Atalanta.

Tuttomercatoweb’s report comes on the same day that Fabrizio Romano broke the news of talks between Tottenham and another of Europe’s most highly-rated young centre-halves; Jean-Clair Todibo of Nice.
“Understand Tottenham have now opened talks to sign Jean-Clair Todibo in January. He’s high on Tottenham list,” Romano writes on X. “Not easy deal with OGC Nice, but talks (are) now starting. Spurs spoke also to player’s camp in the recent days.”
Considering that both are right-footed centre-halves, it is unlikely that Spurs will sign both Dragusin and Todibo in January. They could, however, bring in Dragusin or Todibo alongside a left-footer such as Lloyd Kelly or Koki Machida, for example.
