Well, former Liverpool striker Stan Collymore thinks that Chelsea will go all out to sign Victor Osimhen from Napoli in the summer transfer window.
Chelsea are having a poor season and are not going to end up in the Premier League top four. The Blues are not scoring enough goals and need a top-quality number nine.
Osimhen has scored seven goals and given two assists in 11 Serie A starts so far this campaign. The Napoli striker scored 26 goals and gave four assists in 30 Serie A starts last season.
Collymore told CaughtOffSide: “Chelsea’s lack of goals is well-documented but I expected them to go all out for Victor Osimhen in the summer, so Toney may not be an option for them.”
My View: Chelsea could struggle to sign Victor Osimhen
In my opinion, Chelsea could struggle to sign Victor Osimhen from Napoli in the summer transfer window.
There is speculation that the Nigeria international striker has decided to move to Chelsea at the end of the season. The former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners are also reportedly willing to pay his release clause.
However, that does not mean that a transfer will happen. Chelsea are not going to end up in the top four of the Premier League table this season.
The Blues have fallen considerably behind Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester City and may not challenge for the Premier League title next season.
Arsenal also need a new striker and are keen on the 25-year-old striker. Manchester United are interested as well. There is Real Madrid as well. So, Chelsea would find it really hard amid all the competition.
