Stan Collymore has given his verdict on whether or not Ivan Toney would be a good signing for Manchester United.
The former Liverpool striker thinks that Toney’s presence in the United squad would help one particular young player.

Ivan Toney tipped to be a success at Manchester United
Well, Stan Collymore thinks that Brentford striker Ivan Toney would be a very good signing for Manchester United in the summer transfer window.
The former Liverpool striker has noted that the 27-year-old England international striker would be a great fit for Erik ten Hag’s side.
The pundit has noted that Toney would help Rasmus Hojlund. Collymore thinks that the Denmark international striker could learn from the English striker.
Hojlund joined United from Atalanta in the summer of 2023. The 21-year-old is only just starting to score goals for the Red Devils in the Premier League.
The Dane has scored four goals and given two assists in 15 Premier League starts and has scored five goals in six UEFA Champions League for the Red Devils, who have been urged to sell Casemiro in the summer transfer window.
Collymore told CaughtOffSide: “It looks like Ivan Toney is going to be one of the big movers in the summer. It feels almost inevitable that Brentford sell him at the end of the season. All the big hitters are linked and I am not surprised. I think he’s good enough to lead any team’s line but there will be concerns over his discipline record such as his recent ban for illegal betting.
“No disrespect to Brentford, but the story of Toney’s suspension was massive, could you imagine how much more it’d have blown up if he was at Manchester United, or Chelsea, or Arsenal? — I think those clubs would have already asked themselves that question. But don’t get me wrong, I don’t think that alone stops him from moving to a big club. He’d be a great fit for all of them.
“Rasmus Hojlund has moody Anthony Martial to learn from at the moment but someone like Toney, a more enthusiastic striker; a player who knows how to lead a line, would prove beneficial to a youngster like Hojlund. Arsenal obviously need another striker to help take them to the next level.”
My View: Ivan Toney would be a realistic signing for Manchester United
In my opinion, Manchester United could be able to sign Brentford striker Ivan Toney in the summer transfer window.
Brentford manager Thomas Frank has already said that Toney will leave at the end of the season.
HITC understands that the Bees will sell the striker for £50-60 million. That is a sum that United should be able to afford.
While United have not been having the best of times as a club and on the pitch in recent years, they are still arguably the biggest club in England. I think that Toney would find leaving Brentford for the Red Devils very appealing.
