The German has created an iconic legacy at Anfield and is still in contention to win four trophies this season.
HITC Football now understands that Brighton are desperate to tie down manager Roberto De Zerbi to a new contract with several clubs including Liverpool interested in his services.
The 44-year-old’s current contract expires in 2026, but Brighton are working hard to reward him for the excellent work he’s done since replacing Graham Potter in 2022.
Brighton are aware of the interest in their manager, with Liverpool not the only club keeping a close eye on the Italian.
Brighton want to tie De Zerbi down to new deal amid Liverpool interest
The Seagulls are no strangers to their managers attracting interest from elsewhere.
After losing Potter to Chelsea, De Zerbi picked up brilliantly from where he left off and that meant other teams quickly started looking at him too.
Last summer, De Zerbi was considered as a replacement for Potter at Stamford Bridge after his sacking, while he was on Tottenham’s shortlist before they opted to hire Ange Postecoglou.
Aside from Liverpool, Barcelona and Bayern Munich are now also looking at De Zerbi which explains why Brighton are so keen to agree a new contract.
All three teams will be changing head coaches in the summer, with Bayern confirming today that Thomas Tuchel will leave at the end of the season.
Manchester United had also been linked in the past, but as HITC revealed previously, they will be sticking with Erik ten Hag.

The German has revolutionised the club during his eight-and-a-half years at Anfield.
He finally ended Liverpool’s long wait to win the Premier League and delivered another Champions League victory as well.
Whoever replaces Klopp at Liverpool has big shoes to fill but Roberto De Zerbi has shown at Brighton that he’s not someone who shies away from high-pressure situations.
His teams tend to control games and dominate possession and while that has seen them concede the ball in dangerous areas on numerous occasions, when it works it is fantastic to watch.
