Well, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has been raving about Martin Odegaard after the match against Burnley.
Arsenal beat Burnley 5-0 away from home at Turf Moor in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
Odegaard scored a goal and provided an assist, and Arteta was very impressed with the £30 million (Sky Sports) Norway international attacking midfielder.
Arteta told Football.London when asked about Odegaard cupping his ears for his celebrations: “I don’t know. I didn’t notice he made that gesture but he was really happy in the dressing room. The way he played again today he was exceptional.
“I don’t think he needs to send any message, I think he needs to be himself and so what he feels. If he feels something then do it, and then deal with the consequences. Some people are going to like it and some won’t but we really like it.”
My View: Martin Odegaard needs to be in top form
In my opinion, Arsenal need Martin Odegaard to be at the top of his game in the coming weeks and months.
Not only are Arsenal aiming to win the Premier League title this season, but the North London club are also looking to go far in the UEFA Champions League.
I think that the Gunners need to keep Odegaard fit for the season to have a really good chance of achieving success.
There was a spell when Odegaard was struggling, but he is back in top form now and is scoring goals and creating chances.
The playmaker has scored five goals and provided six assists in 22 Premier League matches for Arsenal this season. The 25-year-old Norway international attacking midfielder has scored two goals in five UEFA Champions League matches for the North London club this campaign.
