Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United and Sean Dyche’s Everton will face each other at Old Trafford in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

Manchester United are sixth in the Premier League table at the moment with 44 points from 27 matches.

Erik ten Hag’s side are as many as 11 points behind Aston Villa, who are currently fourth and occupy the final UEFA Champions League spot.

United, who are scouting Luca Netz, could still end up in the top four, but I think that it is unlikely. The Red Devils have to do the best they can and hope that Villa and Tottenham Hotspur collapse.

Meanwhile, Everton are in danger of getting relegated to the Championship at the end of the season.

The Toffees are as low as 16th in the Premier League table now with 25 points from 27 matches. Sean Dyche’s side are five points above Luton Town, who are third from bottom and have played 26 games.

Chris Sutton backs Manchester United to win vs Everton

Former Chelsea striker Chris Sutton has given his prediction of the match. As you can below, the BBC Sport pundit has backed United to pick up all three points at Old Trafford.

Sutton told BBC Sport: “Everton have been in woeful form for a while now, but I still can’t say I am totally convinced Manchester United will beat them.

“Sean Dyche’s side gave United a decent game at Goodison Park in November, despite losing 3-0, and I feel like the score will be a lot closer this time.

“I am really tempted to go for a draw but I just know United will somehow nick another spawny win, so that is what I am going with.

“There were some people out there who gave them credit for hanging on for a long time against Manchester City last Sunday but I was not impressed.

“There is no disputing how good Marcus Rashford’s goal was to give United the lead, but the game was a mismatch and they are so far behind City – the two teams are worlds apart.

“Whether United do win this game or not probably comes down to whether striker Rasmus Hojlund is fit.

“If he does make it back from injury, it gives them a focal point in attack. Without him, we saw what happened to United last time out at Old Trafford when they lost to Fulham.

“Sutton’s prediction: 2-1.”

My View: Manchester United will win vs Everton

Chris Sutton thinks that Rasmus Hojlund will decide Manchester United’s fortune against Everton. The in-form striker will not play in the Premier League game.

I still think that the Red Devils will pick up all three points from the match. Yes, United slumped to a defeat to Manchester City in the Manchester derby last weekend, but that was inevitable.

Everton are not in good form and have not any of their last five Premier League games. United are at home for the fixture and have won three of their last five league matches.
