Jarrod Bowen is having the season of his life at West Ham United.

The 27-year-old isn’t just one of the best players under David Moyes, but one of the best players in the Premier League right now.

Whether it’s his goalscoring touch inside the penalty area or set-piece ability, as he showcased during West Ham’s 1-1 draw against Tottenham on Tuesday night.

Over the course of the campaign, Jarrod Bowen has netted 15 Premier League goals for his European-chasing side.

He needs one more goal to equal West Ham legend Paolo Di Canio’s record of 16 in a season for the Hammers – 1999/00 – and two more to break it, which you will expect him to do during these remaining seven games.

After Moyes watched his team pick up a point against Spurs, the Euro 2024 hopeful was in conversation with Alan Shearer.

Bowen stated that, even though he didn’t score in the London derby, he is hoping to break that Di Canio record and that ‘I need two more goals’.

Those comments were ‘music to the ears’ of Shearer because he loved the mindset of the player, as he told Premier League Productions (02/04/24 at 10:30 pm).

“I hope so because I have got the West Ham Premier League record to break,” said Bowen. “I need two more goals.”

Shearer then stated: “Absolutely, as a goalscorer. He has got that taste, hasn’t he?! I love words like that ‘I want that record’. Perfect. Music to my ears.”

Jarrod Bowen at Euro 2024

Every West Ham fan, and most England supporters, would pick Bowen for this summer’s European Championships.

But will Gareth Southgate?

Bowen has been a regular in England squads for a while now and his form is deserving of getting picked.

But you just never know with the England manager. You hope the versatile forward does get picked because he would be a very strong squad player.

From being able to play that back-up role to Bukayo Saka on the right to his ability to play down the middle, he is a must!
