One former Manchester United defender believes that Marcus Rashford is a special player and he should remain at Old Trafford this summer.
The future of a plethora of first team Manchester United players this summer is set to be put under scrutiny with Ineos and Sir Jim Ratcliffe, who acquired 25 per cent of the club, keen on making changes at Old Trafford.
Erik ten Hag’s future is also still yet to be decided with the key decisionmakers at Old Trafford remaining undecided, according to HITC.
Marcus Rashford’s future is also uncertain with the English winger’s poor season culminating in Gareth Southgate ejecting the 26-year-old out of his 30-man squad for the European Championships this summer.

Bruce on Rashford
Rashford’s antics off the pitch, as well as his poor performances on it, have meant his future has been consistently called into question but ex-United defender Steve Bruce believes he is a special talent.
“We saw again in the FA Cup final what a talent he is,” Bruce told talkSPORT. “He is a fantastic footballer who played a wonderful pass for the second goal.
“He has got frightening ability and he seems a little bit lost at the moment and needs to find that spark again and play with the same energy and enthusiasm which we saw when he broke through because he was a breath of fresh air a few years ago. He has done a lot for the underprivileged children with free school meals, seeing the Prime Minister.
“He has got a lot to offer, but it looks as if towards the end and towards the middle of the season, he has got a big weight on his shoulders and he needs to get rid of that and play with that freedom again.”
Rashford’s chance
With the England winger not selected for the Three Lions squad this summer, Rashford has a chance to work on himself over the break and be ready for a key season at Old Trafford.
Whether it is with Ten Hag, or indeed a new manager, Rashford has to perform next season and show why he is such a special player for the Red Devils.
In the FA Cup final against Manchester City, Rashford looked back to his best and played a superb cross field pass to Alejandro Garnacho, which eventually led to Kobbie Mainoo doubling United’s lead.
