Arsenal and Chelsea are craving that all-important number nine.
You could say many Premier League teams are looking for that striker to change their fortunes around and push them over that dotted line.
For Arsenal, it’s the Premier League title they want and trying to dethrone the all-dominant Manchester City.
Whereas their neighbours, after a number of seasons without Champions League football, are trying to get back to the elite.
Chelsea, who recently parted ways with Mauricio Pochettino, feel that a striker would make a world of difference to them.
Sources have told HITC that Napoli’s all-action forward Victor Osimhen is their preferred transfer target for the summer.
But Shaka Hislop has backed Arsenal to secure his signature by stating that he ‘ticks all the boxes’ for what the Gunners are looking for, as he told ESPN.
The former Premier League goalkeeper added that Osimhen is also the ‘style of finisher’ needed at the Emirates.
Europan football expert Julien Laurens added by saying that, compared to last season when Osimhen won the title with Napoli, his transfer price has decreased.
Victor Osimhen’s future
“Without question, the first order of business is that style of finisher and I think Osimhen ticks all the boxes that Arsenal need,” said Hislop.
Laurens added: “The thing with Osimhen is that he will be very expensive. Even if his price would have gone down this season because Napoli have been dreadful and he hasn’t been great. Certainly not as great as the season before.
“It won’t be as expensive as the £150-180 million that De Laurentiis wanted a year ago, for example. But it will still be expensive. Around £80-100 million Euros. And that’s a lot of money. Right now, I am not sure Arsenal really can go and sign a £100 million striker, unless they sell and they will have to sell well. The thing with Osimhen, or Vlahovic, or Isak, or Watkins, whoever you want as a real nine. We go back to the debate we had in January, in the way Mikel Arteta and this team play, your nine needs to do just scoring goals.”

Defence or Attack for Arsenal?
It’s not going to be easy for Arsenal to spend money like they did last season on Declan Rice.
Nor can they afford to go hard in both areas of the pitch – attack and defence – they, most likely, will have to prioritise certain areas.

It will be interesting to see what areas Arteta decides he needs to focus on more because Arsenal did score a lot of goals this term.
They netted 91 times, only Manchester City scored more, so you can’t say scoring goals is an issue, even when people tried to question the now-transformed, Kai Havertz.
