Even though Chelsea are without a manager, it hasn’t stopped the transfer rumour mill from churning up possible moves.

The London club finished sixth in the Premier League table at the end of the campaign and will play Europa Conference League football next season.

Soon after the season ended, Mauricio Pochettino secured a shock exit and now Chelsea are looking for a new coach.

There is talk of Enzo Maresca coming in, and whilst the club finalises details for the Leicester City man moving to Stamford Bridge, the club could be about to conclude a deal.

Sources have told HITC that Chelsea have agreed terms with Tosin Adarabioyo and they are about to sign him from Fulham on a free transfer.

But for those players to come in, the club’s books need to be balanced and that’s where there could be high-profile sales.

Paul Merson discussed loaned-out star Ian Maatsen and how he is ‘a million miles away’ from the first team, as he told Sportskeeda.

The highly-rated fullback joined Borussia Dortmund in January and helped them reach the Champions League final.

But they were beaten in the Champions League final by Real Madrid on Saturday at Wembley, with Maatsen starting the game and his mistake leading to Vinicius Jr scoring.

“Dortmund have done incredibly well to reach the final against all the odds,” said Merson. “But they were challenged by Paris Saint-Germain in the second leg of the semis, with the Ligue 1 giants hitting the woodwork or the post several times.

“Jadon Sancho and Ian Maatsen – two players who joined the club on loan in January – have been incredible for the Bundesliga giants, but they are a million miles away for Manchester United and Chelsea, respectively.”

Ian Maatsen’s Chelsea future

Sources have told HITC that Dortmund want to re-sign Maatsen, but Chelsea value the 22-year-old at £35 million.

They aren’t the only team interested in the Dutchman because Maatsen has also caught the attention of Manchester City and Bayern Munich.

Even if he isn’t given a chance in Chelsea’s first-team next season, you feel he will be at a top European club playing Champions League football.

And for Chelsea, it helps with FFP, even if some fans would like the player to stay on board.
