Manchester City have welcomed their number one Ederson back for pre-season but it remains to be seen how long he will be remaining at the club.
Ederson reported back for pre-season tests with the Premier League champions on Monday, but as he did talks over his future were taking place.
City were informed of the Saudi Pro League’s desire to land Ederson last month and that was followed up with a bid worth £25million – as exclusively revealed by HITC last week.

City rejected Al-Nassr bid for for Ederson
HITC can now confirm that City have, as expected, rejected the opening offer from Al-Nassr as they value their Brazilian goalkeeper closer to twice that amount.
However, sources have told HITC that it is likely City would sanction a deal at around £40million for a player they paid Benfica £35million for in 2017.
HITC understands that Ederson has already informed City of his wish to accept the deal on offer in Saudi – which would make him the highest paid goalkeeper in world football – but he and his people acknowledge a new bid would needed to be made in order for him secure his move to the Middle East.
City shocked by Ederson stance over his future
HITC revealed earlier this summer that Ederson had left Man City’s chiefs shocked when he and his representatives stepped back from talks over a new deal as they wanted to ‘consider their options’.
City had planned to undergo talks with Ederson earlier this summer in the belief that they would hand him a new contract and extend his contract – which currently has two-years left to run.
Ederson is now left in a position where he will either sign a new contract with City or push for a move from the Etihad in the coming days.
City for their part have already secured Stefan Ortega on a new contract and should Ederson leave, their plan is to make him the club’s new number one.
