HITC understands that Villarreal have agreed a fee with Manchester United for defender Willy Kambwala.

Manchester United have been busy in the transfer market under Erik ten Hag this summer with the Red Devils already appointing technical director Dan Ashworth.

After months of negotiations, the Red Devils have confirmed the signing of Ashworth with technical director Christopher Vivell set to join the Englishman in the role of transfer specialist.

Jadon Sancho now looks set to stay at Old Trafford after a remarkable U-turn under Ten hag with the former Borussia Dortmund winger understood to have spoken to the Dutchman first about apologising.

United agree to sell defender

The Red Devils will need to rely on sales if they are to have a good summer and HITC understands that defender Willy Kambwala has agreed to an exit from Old Trafford.

Kambwala was given chances for the Red Devils under Erik ten Hag but the academy graudate now looks set to depart the club.

The 19-year-old is a popular figure and Ten Hag is a big admirer of the Frenchman, but he could not guarantee him the first-team football he was hoping for.

With the potential signing of Matthijs De Ligt, Kambwala may well be limited in his game time at Old Trafford next season.

Ten Hag described the defender as ‘brilliant‘ earlier this season when the Frenchman started and impressed during the 2-2 draw against Liverpool at Old Trafford

The Red Devils confirmed that Jonny Evans had signed a new one-year contract at Old Trafford so the Frenchman may well be limited in his game time.

Due to the injury crisis at Old Trafford, Kambwala was relied upon at centre-back but it now appears his time at the club is coming to an end.

Red Devils agree Kambwala exit

Sources have told HITC that the Red Devils have agreed a fee to sell the Frenchman to La Liga side Villarreal.

The agreement is a permanent deal for the French defender with United set to receive £10 million for the academy graduate.

As well as the sale of the teenage defender, sources have told HITC that the Red Devils are also set to have a buyback clause included in the deal for the Frenchman.
