HITC understands that Chelsea have told out-of-favour goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga that they allow him to leave on-loan this month, but to do so he will have to sign a contract extension.
Kepa is one of the Chelsea ‘bomb squad’ – which also includes the likes of Raheem Sterling, Trevoh Chalobah and Ben Chilwell.
They have all been excluded from Chelsea’s first-team squad and told they need to leave before the end of the transfer widow.
29-year-old Kepa spent last season on-loan at Real Madrid and they remain one of the club’s who have an interest in him, but they would also only consider a loan at this point.
Chelsea tell Kepa that he needs to sign an extension
Chelsea are willing to loan Kepa, however, we understand he would have to sign an extension, but he would also have to take a major drop in his wages on as part of the extension.
HITC is told that as it stands Kepa is the world’s highest paid goalkeeper – but despite this there is interest.
The Saudi Pro League have held talks, but as the window nears closure HITC understands a number of clubs have expressed an interest and Bournemouth have become suitors for Kepa, after it emerged they would not be getting Giorgi Mamardashvili as part of his impending move to Liverpool.
Bournemouth in talks over possible Kepa deal
Bournemouth have spoken to Chelsea about the prospect of a deal, but they have also had conversations over possible deals for Aaron Ramsdale, Sam Johnstone and James Trafford.
Kepa is now set to consider his options in the coming days and whether he will sign a new deal, which will see his contract extended by at least another 12-months. It is a similar situation to what happened with Ian Maatsen as he signed an extension prior to joining Borussia Dortmund in January.
The post Revealed - Kepa will be allowed to leave on loan but only if he agrees to Chelsea demands appeared first on HITC.
