» » » 'So happy': Kyle Walker-Peters delighted with Tottenham Hotspur transfer news

Tottenham Hotspur’s summer transfer window is ticking along just nicely.

Only 12 months ago, Ange Postecoglou was preparing for his first Premier League game in charge of Tottenham away at Brentford.

Days before the new campaign had started, Daniel Levy had decided to sell Harry Kane to Bayern Munich to the annoyance and pain of the supporters.

Tottenham fans just lost one of the most important players of their recent history and perhaps the greatest player of their times.

And even then, the marmite-like figure Levy didn’t bring in a proven number nine, with Kane making his first return to Tottenham when he helped Bayern Munich win a pre-season friendly on Saturday.

By then, Spurs’ new number nine had arrived in the form of Bournemouth striker Dominic Solanke, who came through Chelsea’s academy and briefly spent time at Liverpool.

Many players were delighted to see the 26-year-old move to Hotspur Way, with HITC reporting that Solanke’s record move will benefit Liverpool.

The former Spurs right-back – Kyle Walker-Peters – penned a little message to Solanke in the comments section of his Instagram post: ‘My brother. So happy for you’.

Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers added: ‘Good luck, my boy’. And rising boxing sensation Ben Whittaker also wrote: ‘COYS. Love to see it’.

The Harry Kane replacement

It’s probably going to help Solanke that he hasn’t come in as soon as Kane left because the comparisons will be far less and it puts less spotlight on him, in that regard.

But Tottenham have made one of the biggest squad upgrades in a long time, with Solanke coming off his best-ever season.

He scored 19 Premier League goals last term – Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola hailed Solanke as his ‘most important player’, proving that Spurs are signing him at the right time.

That’s Solanke now nailed in as a starter for Spurs, with Tottenham’s stance on selling Richarlison explained.
