Grace returns in 2023 for its long-awaited season 3 and episode 1 sees a whole host of guest stars join the cast alongside John Simm.

ITV has perfected the detective drama format over the years with series such as Endeavour, Vera and Midsomer Murders becoming stalwarts of the genre.

By comparison, Grace, now returning for season 3, is a relatively new kid on the block with fans still getting accustomed to its main cast of characters, never mind the guest stars who appear in episode 1 of the new series.

Grace season 3 episode 1 release date and plot preview

Episode 1 of Grace season 3 airs on ITV at 8pm on Sunday, March 19, 2023.

Titled Dead Like You, the episode centres on ACC Alison Vosper’s leaving do at the Royal Edward hotel.

Matters take a dark turn when a chilling event forces Grace and Branson into an impossible position as they must investigate every guest, including several high-ranking attendees from East Sussex police.

However, the case becomes even more complicated as Grace recognises the pattern of the crime and begins to question whether a sinister offender from his past has resurfaced or if a callous copycat has emerged.
