Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur have both made enquiries into signing Bristol City teenager Alex Scott this summer.
That’s according to transfer insider Dean Jones, who has been speaking to Give Me Sport about Scott’s future.
Jones claims that a bidding war for Scott is now looking likely this summer.
It’s added that Bristol City want £25million but may increase that asking price to around £30million this summer.
Jones adds that clubs have started to make their first moves for Scott by enquiring about a deal for the midfielder.
Tottenham, West Ham United, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Brighton, Brentford, Crystal Palace, Everton, Leicester and Newcastle United are all in contact with the Robins.
Championship trio Burnley, Sheffield United and Middlesbrough are also interested in Scott and would want him if they win promotion.
That’s a lot of clubs all pushing to sign Scott, which may leave Bristol City believing the £30million fee can be attainable after all.
Newcastle and Tottenham target Alex Scott is a huge talent
Scott hails from Guernsey and spent time in the youth ranks of both Southampton and Bournemouth.
Bristol City pounced to sign Scott from Guernsey in 2020 and that punt has paid off massively.
Scott has become a Championship star at Ashton Gate and looks destined for Premier League football.
Roy Keane has called Scott ‘brilliant to watch’ whilst comparing him to Manchester City superstar Jack Grealish.
Scott even called Grealish his favourite player earlier this month and Grealish responded by calling him a ‘top top talent’.
The parallels are clear from Scott’s ability across midfield to his technique on the ball and even down to his rolled-down socks.
Scott looks set to become a star and it’s no surprise that Premier League clubs are queueing up to sign him.
Newcastle and Tottenham will both have money to spend this summer and have started their pursuit of Scott well in advance of the summer window as they hope to come out victorious.
