Arsenal were in Premier League action away at West Ham United last week.

The Gunners were rampant at the start of the match, racing into a 2-0 lead after just 10 minutes.

Gabriel Jesus tapped home in the seventh minute to get Arsenal up and running at the London Stadium.

Gunners captain Martin Odegaard then doubled the visitors’ lead with a volley three minutes later.

However, West Ham halved the deficit on 33 minutes.

Arsenal gave away a sloppy penalty and Said Benrahma made no mistake from the spot.

Jarrod Bowen then volleyed home in the 54th minute for a share of the spoils.

‘This could be City’

This week, Michail Antonio spoke about the match on the Footballer’s Football podcast.

The Hammers ace admitted his side couldn’t cope with Arsenal at times, saying their play was “unbelievable”.

Antonio also defended Aaron Cresswell from the criticism he received in the build-up to Odegaard’s goal.

The forward was also stunned to see Jesus picking the ball up from deep, along with numerous other notable plays.

Finally, Antonio admitted he wants Arsenal to win the Premier League ahead of Manchester City.

“It’s unbelievable,” he began.

“The craziest thing is how they are doing it – watching the game – I was like if I shut my eyes this could be City, it’s exactly how they play.

“They have the wingers wide, the midfielders in the two 10’s, then they have the strikers coming deep, Jesus was picking it up at six.

“It was a mess! You can’t stay in your shape. They move you out of your shape, it’s unbelievable. You saw it with the first goal.

“Even with the second – you saw Odegaard running far stick – Saka has run Cress in and Odegaard has run off the back of Cress.

“People are saying that Cress lost his man, he didn’t! He is just there because they are just everywhere.

“The quality is unbelievable. I rate them. I want them to win the league, I actually do.”

Our view

Antonio really sounded stunned by how hard a game Arsenal gave him and his side last weekend.

The Gunners have done exceptionally well this season, and they’re still top of the table as they pursue a first title since 2004.

Mikel Arteta – and by extension, everyone at and linked with Arsenal – should feel proud of what Antonio has said about how well the team is playing.

Now, we’ll see whether they can help Arsenal clinch a title at their former employers’ expense.

The next few weeks will be a real psychological test, with the Gunners needing to keep their cool.

We’ll see what happens, and no doubt it’ll be exciting (if you’re a neutral) and nerve-wracking (if you’re an Arsenal fan).
