Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has raved about Kieran Tierney amid links with Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United and Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.
Arteta has said on the club’s official website that Tierney is top quality, and the Arsenal boss has outlined how the Scotland international is influencing the team.
The Arsenal boss has also praised central defender Rob Holding for the role that he is playing for the Gunners this season.
Tierney is not a regular in the Arsenal first team.
The former Celtic left-back has been linked with Newcastle and Manchester City.
The Athletic reported in March that Newcastle want to sign Tierney in the summer transfer window and consider him as an ideal signing.
Football Transfers have reported that Manchester City boss Guardiola wanted to sign Tierney from Arsenal in the January transfer window and remains keen on taking him to the Etihad Stadium at the end of the season.

Arteta said about Holding and Tierney: “Their contribution is huge. First of all the way they behave around the team, how patient they have been, and when they have to play what they have produced in terms of performances.
“Now, they are playing more games, they are playing more minutes and will continue to do so.
“This is why you need top-quality players with the right mentality to be ready when you need them – on the pitch, and when you are not using them that much on the pitch, to contribute to the team in the right way. Those two are great examples of that.”
The Arsenal boss added when asked about their attitude: “They are both great characters, they are really liked among the players.
“They bring that special energy to the team and I’m really happy to have them.”

In our view, Newcastle United could be able to sign Kieran Tierney from Arsenal in the summer transfer window.
Yes, Arteta rates the left-back highly, but the Scotsman himself could be tempted to leave as he is not playing regularly.
The 25-year-old has made only five starts and 17 substitute appearances in the Premier League for Arsenal so far this season.
Newcastle are a big and ambitious club, and the chance to move to St. James’ Park and become a regular in the first team could be tempting to Tierney.
