In the midst of the controversy surrounding Bud Light’s recent collaboration with transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney, rumors have emerged claiming Budweiser’s parent company, Anheuser-Busch, has fired their entire marketing team, but is there any truth to it?

The largest beer brewing company in the United States has been subject to a severe backlash by conservatives for supposedly propagating “woke” culture by pushing gender agenda with their latest campaign that features a transgender person.

Meanwhile, social media users in support of the “anti-woke” culture have taken a dig at Budweiser’s marketing team, owing to their ideation of an unconventional commercial while suggesting that Anheuser-Busch should fire them.

Did Anheuser-Busch fire Budweiser’s marketing team?

No, Anheuser-Busch hasn’t fired Budweiser or Bud Light’s marketing team.

While a number of TikTok users have taken it upon themselves to decide whether the marketing team responsible for the campaign featuring Dylan Mulvaney should continue to be a part of the company, some conservatives are spreading false rumors about the same.

For instance, a right-wing conservative website published an article that claims “Anheuser-Busch fires its entire marketing department after worst mistake in Bud Light History”.

The article features made-up quotes by Bud Light’s parent company, as if they have seriously considered the opinions of the anti-woke community and decided to get rid of their marketing team.

“We have a very particular retail customer base. they don’t like wokeness. They don’t agree that they should have to accept immoral people and their lifestyles,” one quote in the story states.

However, Anheuser-Busch hasn’t officially announced any changes to its marketing team or addressed the baseless rumors.

Bud Light’s campaign featuring Dylan Mulvaney results in boycott calls

Bud Light found itself in hot water after choosing transgender activist Dylan as its brand ambassador.

Two days ago, the influencer posted a video with a few customized Bud Light cans featuring her face. The campaign is said to have been created to “celebrate 365 days of womanhood”, marking the first anniversary of Dylan’s TikTok video series which documented her transition.

But, the campaign soon earned the wrath of conservatives who called out the beer brand for not keeping in mind its traditional audience and catering specifically to the LGBTQ+ community.

However, a significant number of people think the controversy surrounding Dylan’s collaboration with the beer brand is simply ridiculous and many on TikTok are using Bud Light memes to bite back at the boycotters.

What has the company said?

Despite growing backlash towards the latest campaign, Bud Light has defended its decision to feature Dylan on the cans and has maintained that the purpose of it was to celebrate the influencer’s milestone and not meant to draw profits.

A spokesperson for the company said in a statement: “Anheuser-Busch works with hundreds of influencers across our brands as one of many ways to authentically connect with audiences across various demographics and passion points.”

“From time to time, we produce unique commemorative cans for fans and for brand influencers, like Dylan Mulvaney. This commemorative can was a gift to celebrate a personal milestone and is not for sale to the general public.”
