Following false reports that claimed leading American beer brewing company, Anheuser-Busch, fired its marketing team amid furor over Bud Light’s LGBTQ+ supporting campaign, another rumor about former CEO Augustus Anheuser Busch III resigning from his position in 2023 in the wake of the controversy has surfaced online.
A number of Anheuser Busch’s products have come under fire after the beer company joined hands with Dylan Mulvaney to celebrate the transgender activist’s 365 days of womanhood, referring to her transition in the past year, which has been documented in her TikTok series.
Conservatives are protesting against Bud Light – some are even destroying the cans by running them under their trucks or shooting them using rifles like Kid Rock did.
CEO August Anheuser Busch III resigns in 2023 rumor’s origin
The same right-wing conservative site that claimed Anheuser-Busch fired Budweiser’s marketing team, has now reported that CEO August Anheuser Busch III has resigned and issued an apology statement for his company’s actions.
However, the claim is bogus because neither is Augustus serving as the CEO of the beer company in 2023 nor has the current CEO, Brandan Whitworth, announced his resignation as the report suggests.
The website states: ” CEO Augustus Anheuser III left the corporate headquarters in shame after tendering his resignation.”
It further claims that the former CEO, posed as the current one, said: “The whole thing is ultimately my fault. I should have never approved that campaign.”
However, the above report couldn’t be further from the truth and it seems like yet another attempt to draw more negativity toward the brand.
Who is the former chief of the beer company?
August Anheuser Busch III is the great-grandson of Anheuser-Busch founder, Adolphus Busch.
He served as Anheuser-Busch Companies Inc’s President from 1974 until June 2022 and as the CEO from 1975 until June 2002. He became the chairman of the Board of Directors from 1977 to 2006.
He was succeeded by Patrick Stokes, who became the first non-Busch family member to run the day-to-day operations of the company.
The company’s growth and long-term commercial strategy are currently being led by its CEO, Brendan. According to the company’s official website, he has years of experience in the Marine Corps and Central Intelligence Agency.
He’s been with Anheuser-Busch since 2013, overlooking sales and marketing efforts in the United States.
Ridiculous claims are on the rise
The anti-woke community is mostly responsible for the baseless rumors about the beer company that’s going around on the Internet.
The website in question, also responsible for spreading some of the biggest rumors since the controversy broke, has falsely quoted made-up representatives of Anheuser-Busch in its latest story as well.
The fabricated statement, shared by the supposed Vice President and Interim CEO, Joe Barron, reads: “We’ll have to be vigilant and make sure our advertising is acceptable for all. The cancel culture left is always looking for a reason to take a brand out, so catering to them didn’t make a lot of sense.”
“The company is also in talks with Nike, Yeti, Coca-Cola, and Disney to find out how they recovered from the devastating boycotts of patriotic Americans. “I plan to join the group therapy sessions on Tuesdays,” it reads further.
However, there’s no truth to any of the above.
