Tottenham Hotspur are looking to launch a double raid on Kilmarnock having targeted David Watson alongside fellow youngster Ben Brannan.
Spurs are looking to add young talent and appear to have already snapped up Manchester City’s Herbie James.
Football London reported just a few days ago that Kilmarnock youngster Ben Brannan is training with the Tottenham development squad.
Tottenham may not be done with Kilmarnock just yet though as they plot a double raid on the Scottish club.
The Scottish Sun report that Spurs are now interested in Killie midfielder David Watson too.
It’s stated that Tottenham want to bring Watson in for training this week – just like teammate Brannan.
The report claims that Tottenham may choose to do a deal for both players but want to have a close look before committing to a deal.
That seems highly unlikely though given that Watson is already in the Kilmarnock first team at just 18.
Watson started against Aberdeen on Saturday afternoon and with Celtic to come next weekend, Killie surely won’t want him heading off to London in the coming days.
Who is Tottenham target David Watson?
Watson hails from Prestwick in Ayrshire, just about a 20-minute drive away from Kilmarnock.
Watson has been coming up through the Killie ranks and is now a first-team player under Derek McInnes.
The teenager has now made four Scottish Premiership appearances and appears to be a top prospect for the future.
Watson has been so impressive that Killie teammate Danny Armstrong hailed him as ‘brilliant’ just last week.
Speaking to BBC Sport, Armstrong also hailed Watson’s work ethic, noting that he is one of the hardest workers at Kilmarnock.
That combination of talent and work ethic is why Tottenham are now showing such a strong interest, and they may hope to have both Brannan and Watson signed up this summer.
