Tottenham Hotspur are still looking for a new permanent manager in wake of Antonio Conte’s departure.

Plenty of names have been doing the rounds in terms of potentially landing the Spurs job.

The likes of Mauricio Pochettino, Julian Nagelsmann and Luis Enrique have got most of the attention.

However, there are other managers who may not be as high-profile, but could still be a good shout for N17.

One of those is Arne Slot, who has been working wonders at Feyenoord.

The Independent have reported that Tottenham have been testing the Dutchman’s interest in the job.

Apparently, Spurs have been using ‘back channels’ to try and gauge whether Slot would fancy a move to N17.

The Rotterdam club currently tops the Eredivisie table by six points, with Ajax in second.

Feyenoord are also in the quarter-finals of the Europa League, with Jose Mourinho’s Roma up next.

However, what could really stand out for Tottenham about Slot is his style of play.

‘Wonderful attacking machine’

Dutch journalist Marcel van der Kraan recently provided a glowing endorsement of the 44-year-old.

He described Slot as a “maniac” who plays “ultra-attacking” football, and likened him to Pep Guardiola.

“The best thing about Arne Slot is that he is probably the best attacking coach I have seen in the last 35-40 years at Feyenoord,” he told talkSPORT.

“He is very similar to Pep Guardiola, his ideas are very similar, he is a massive fan of Pep and he plays the same time.

“He goes ultra-attacking, he is almost like a maniac.

“Not on the touchline but it is fantastic to see how he has turned an average side into a wonderful attacking machine.”

Tottenham cult hero Rafael van der Vaart has also waxed lyrical about the prospect of Slot to Spurs.

“I think he is one of the biggest talents as a coach, he would be an ideal [appointment],” he told BBC Radio 5 Live this week.

“I think it’s a good option for Tottenham.”

Both Slot and Pochettino employ attacking, high-pressing styles of football.

They’re also both tactically flexible, passionate, have strong man-management skills and give opportunities to young players.

Spurs could well get themselves Pochettino Mk II if they push for Slot and succeed in bringing him to N17.
