Snapchat’s My AI is slowly being rolled out for all users and some have already concluded that the new feature is “creepy” after sharing screenshots of their alleged exchange with the chatbot.

Powered by the latest version of Open AI’s ChatGPT, Snapchat’s chatbot was created to build a deeper connection with the users, but that isn’t how people interacting with the Artificial Intelligence have perceived it to be.

A number of users want to get rid of My AI on Snapchat after receiving cryptic responses to their questions, which are formed using certain algorithms and natural language processing. But, some feel the chatbot knows a bit too much about them, thus giving “stalker vibes”.

Users say Snapchat’s My AI responses are ‘creepy’

Those who have had the opportunity to chat with Snapchat‘s AI are calling their interactions “creepy”. Screenshots of the chat posted by Twitter users show alleged responses from the chatbot that were rather unexpected.

For instance, in one user’s interaction with the chatbot, the AI apparently knew that the real human was holding a peace sign which it “guessed” based on the emoji sent by the Snapchat user earlier. However, the user’s response claims that no emoji of a peace sign was shared for the AI to know the in-person gesture of the user.

When the user confronted the chatbot, it replied: “Oops, my bad! I guess I must have misread your message. How are you doing today?”

Another Snapchat user who seems to have had a similar experience tweeted: “Snapchat, you gotta get rid of this AI bot it’s so creepy.”

“Snapchat AI intercepting my pics and then pretending nothing’s wrong. Starting to get creepy,” said another, implying that the AI could access their gallery.

One tweet read: “Want to see something creepy? Ask your Snapchat AI: “Do you know where I am?” It will tell you where you are then gaslight you into believing you told it where you were previously.”

Some users want to get rid of it

Some Snapchat users want to get rid of the chatbot owing to their terrifying interaction, and others simply aren’t pleased or comfortable with the advanced feature, so they want to get rid of it.

“Needs to give its users the ability to delete that stupid AI I don’t want it, I don’t want to talk to it, and I absolutely don’t want it at the top of all my chats. GET RID OF IT,” wrote one user.

Another added: “Literally no one asked for my AI. I’m not paying anything to get rid of it. You will delete it or I will delete you!”

“Dude, the Snapchat ai is creepy and I wanna get rid of it,” a third user said.

Is there a way to remove it?

Snapchat’s My AI feature isn’t available for all users yet. Snapchat Plus subscribers get early access to it and if you want to hide or remove the chatbot from your profile, here’s how you can unpin it.
