Ally McCoist has discussed the possibility of Liverpool star Sadio Mane securing a transfer back to the Premier League amid rumours that he will leave Bayern Munich in the summer.
It hasn’t gone well for the all-action forward, who after less than 12 months in the colours of Bayern Munich, is already heading for the exit door and McCoist thinks it has been a ‘disaster’ of a spell, as he told talkSPORT (17/05/23 at 6:55 am).
Sadio Mane, after winning the lot in the colours of Liverpool, left Anfield last summer for a new chapter in his career.

But that chapter in Germany has seen him being talked about more for his punch on Leroy Sane, than anything he has done on the field of play, which according to his supporters, hasn’t been much.
As a result, the 31-year-old’s time at the German champions could come to an end before it has even started and he has been linked with a return to England’s top-flight, but he doesn’t want to join Champions League-chasing Newcastle United.
What about a return to Liverpool? Whilst he is and forever will be a club legend, McCoist thinks that ship has sailed.
“I don’t think he is coming back to the Premier League, I really don’t,” said McCoist. “It has been a bit of a disaster for him, hasn’t it?!
“Off-the-field incidents as well, with Sane. It’s not been good for him. It hasn’t been good for him, at all. Looks like he will leave at the end of the season and it looks like Cancelo will as well, by the way.
“Will they come back to England? Where would he go? No (I don’t think he would go back to Liverpool). I actually don’t.”

LIVERPOOL FANS WOULD WELCOME BACK MANE
If it was up to the Anfield faithful, then they would welcome Mane back with open arms, but that call doesn’t lie with them – a former Tottenham chief says Spurs wanted to sign the ‘world-class’ star before his move to Anfield in 2016.
At the end of the day, Liverpool aren’t exactly in the financial position as some of their rivals, so whilst Jurgen Klopp might be open to the idea of the African Cup of Nations star coming back, the bank balance probably says no.
Plus, Liverpool are stacked in that forward department and their issues lie outside of that.
