Alton Mason was a sight to behold at Met Gala 2023 as he walked up the red carpet in a white Chanel bridal dress. His Karl Lagerfeld-inspired look left many fans in awe.
The 25-year-old model was one of the most talked about celebrities at the 2023 Met Gala. Alton arguably had one of the most unique looks this year, just like Erykah Badu, Jeremy Pope, and a few others.
The star, who made his acting debut in the Elvis Presley biopic by
Baz Luhrmann, impressed many fans last year too with his Prada look at the Met. This year, fans are loving his take on the Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty theme.
Alton Mason is a Chanel bride at Met Gala 2023
Camera persons at the Met Gala red carpet, as well as fans, could not take their eyes off Alton once he arrived at the event.
The model walked the red carpet in a white Chanel cut-out bridal dress with a long veil.
Alton’s bridal look comes days after socialite Sofia Richie’s luxury wedding, where she donned Chanel and looked stunning too.
Alton’s Met Gala dress had a massive shimmery turtleneck and bejeweled elbow patches. The lace dress also had long netted sleeves with giant floral patterns along the length.
Alton remained open-chested but his midriff was enclosed in a corset. The see-through netted pattern went down to the model legs, with the same flowery pattern on display.
He completed the look with a pair of huge ruffly shoes, white nails, and ruffles that resembled a white bouquet in one hand.
Alton honors Karl Lagerfeld’s memory
Alton talked about his “biggest” memory with Karl while describing his look to the red-carpet host.
“My biggest memory with Karl, I got the blessing to meet Karl in person, was doing Chanel,” he says talking about his Chanel debut at the brand’s 2018 Métier d’art show.
The Jamaican-Ghanaian model made history in 2018, becoming the first black male model to walk for Chanel on the runway.
“This is a very full circle moment for me,” Alton confessed to the host. He also talked about the inspiration behind the dress saying: “When I think of the grandoire moment, I think of the Chanel bride.”

Fans couldn’t help but appreciate Alton’s incredible Met Gala look.
“Knew he would pull up in an INSANE LOOK WOOOW,” one fan commented.
