One story by the news outlet The Debrief, presenting shocking claims surrounding “UFOs” by an alleged former U.S. intelligence officer, has startled social media users.

The article published on Monday, June 5, quotes David Charles Grusch, who is identified as a former intelligence official and a war veteran with experience working with the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency and the National Reconnaissance Office.

As the story is gaining momentum with every passing minute owing to the information it alleges about UFOs, based on the claims made by the so-called “whistleblower”, here’s what we know about the establishment that features the breaking news.

What is The Debrief?

The Debrief identifies itself as a “news site providing a venue for credible reporting on science, tech, and defense news.”

It is co-founded by Micah Hanks, The Editor-in-Chief, Tim MacMillan, the Executive Director, and MJ Banias, who serves as the Content Director.

The news outlet primarily works towards reporting science, defense, technology, and knowledge that exists on the “periphery of human understanding.”

The Debrief strives to draw attention towards innovations in a number of fields and disciplines, through “informed–and fair–reporting and media coverage.”

The website is apparently an independent endeavor, which is “homebuilt and self-funded.”

Website is always looking for ‘fellow rebellious minds’ to pitch stories

Any individual with a “rebellious” mind and passion for engaging news and in-depth investigations can pitch their stories to The Debrief.

Although the news outlet welcomes authentic reporting and breaking news that can have a profound impact on its readers, the thoughts and opinions presented in each story don’t necessarily reflect that of the website.

The disclaimer at the bottom of the site’s About Us section clearly states: “The thoughts, views, and opinions expressed in articles on this site belong solely to the authors and do not necessarily reflect those of The Debrief, or of other groups or individuals featured on the site.”

However, for those with great ideas that could redefine the future or present the unknown to the readers, the news outlet welcomes submissions, as long as they meet the criteria. The pitches can be sent to one of its co-founders, Micah.

Meanwhile, the mission statement of the news website reads:

“Our fundamental belief is that tomorrow’s world is built on today’s progress and imagination. We explore and report on science, technology, space travel, futurism, and knowledge that exists on the periphery of our current human understanding.”

Whistleblower’s UFO story takes social media by storm

The investigative story on The Debrief, co-authored by Leslie Kean and Ralph Blumenthal, featuring claims about alleged classified evidence of “intact and partially intact craft of non-human origin” is boggling people’s minds.

Many shocked users have taken to Twitter to offer their opinions on the possibilities of the existence of aliens and UFOs, that have haunted mankind for eons.

“I just saw the headline #UFO #Whistleblower trending… This world keeps getting crazier,” tweeted one.

Another user tweeted: “The UFO whistleblower story is a lot to process! I am not sure what to believe, but it’s definitely an interesting read.”

“UFO world? If true, it’s the biggest story in the history of the world, period,” read another tweet.

Meanwhile, the authors, Ralph and Leslie, claimed they decided to publish their story on The Debrief instead of the Washington Post because they were under “growing pressure” to get it out quickly. They claim that the Post needed more time, but the authors could not wait any longer.
