Stan Collymore has questioned if Jesse Marsch has the minerals to deal with the pressure of being Celtic manager after his struggles at Leeds United.

The former England striker stated on Twitter that he ‘isn’t convinced’ that the American dealt with the pressure of being Leeds United boss, he wrote about the 49-year-old: “Marsch. Progressive and may work with how Celtic play but not convinced he dealt with Leeds pressure cooker, so Celtic may be an eye-opener for him.”

Jesse Marsch was sacked by Elland Road chiefs in February, before they eventually suffered relegation to the Championship under the stewardship of Sam Allardyce, and now he is being linked to the vacant Celtic gig.

Whoever comes in at Celtic, they have big shoes to fill because you can’t really top being a treble-winner, other than repeating that feat again.

Ange Postecoglou did wonders, both on and off the field of play, with his style of play, the trophies he delivered and the togetherness he brought to the club.

Whilst the Bhoys aim to pick themselves up after his exit, he will look to take his coaching to the next level in the money-crazy world of the Premier League.

Celtic should stay away from Marsch

It must be one of the greatest jobs in the world. Getting sacked from one multi-million pound job, then getting another despite being abject last time out.

Marsch was sacked by RB Leipzig because he just didn’t have the quality to take them to the next level and he was taking Leeds down before he was booted out.

Yes, there was a sense of doubt when Postecoglou first arrived, but that was more of ‘who is this guy?’, rather than questioning his qualities, with Marsch, you know what he’s all about and he simply can’t land the Parkhead gig.
