Shaka Hislop has told Chelsea forward Christian Pulisic to accept any transfer offer from Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United.
Given Christian Pulisic’s stagnation over the years, and that for a Chelsea side that finished in the bottom-half of the Premier League table this term, then Hislop suggested that the USMNT star is lucky that a team like Newcastle would be keen to take him on board this summer, as he told ESPN.
It needs to be remembered that the Magpies are in the Champions League, so they can now dine at the top table now.
This interest in Pulisic has been there for some while, well before they secured a top-four finish.
Should the Magpies now push away from signing the American star? He hasn’t exactly shone brightly and they could easily look elsewhere – it wasn’t so long ago that Micah Richards was comparing him to a prime Eden Hazard, as posted by The Daily Mail.
But regardless of what the club do themselves, for Hislop, the situation should be easy and that’s the player taking the chance to move to St James’ Park with both hands.
“I think he would get the management that he needs at Newcastle United,” said Hislop. “If Newcastle come in for Christian Pulisic, and if I have anything to do with advising him, then I am telling him to take it.
“Remember Christian Pulisic has struggled to establish himself in a team that just finished tenth, what tenth? No, Chelsea were lower than that, 12th.
“Given his stop-start and inconstancies in English football, even dating back to his latter Dortmund days, right now, to get a team finishing in the top four or top-half of the Premier League, then I can’t think of any other.
“The reason why I say ‘he will get the management he needs’. I look at what Eddie Howe has done with Almiron. Four or five years ago, I give you a choice between the two. Pulisic would win hands down, every single time.”

Miguel Almiron, who made huge strides this season, is the guy out wide for Howe, whilst Antony Gordon is trying to get warm in his seat following his January arrival.
Allan Saint-Maximin is the one who is full of tricks, but it hasn’t worked for him under Howe and there are suggestions that he could leave.
The likes of Jacob Murphy and Joe Willock can also play wide. They have been reliable when called upon.
The door is opened for Pulisic to start games for the club, it’s just a case of if he’s good enough to take them to the next level.
