Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United are reportedly ready to beat Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United to the signing of Kim Min-jae.

According to talkSPORT, Newcastle United are now providing “significant competition” to Premier League rivals Manchester United for Napoli central defender Kim Min-jae.

Kim has a release clause of £42 million in his contract at Napoli, and Manchester United head coach Erik ten Hag personally wants the club to activate that.

However, Newcastle are reportedly ready to make their move for the 26-year-old South Korea international centre-back.

The Magpies reportedly want to sign a central defender, and Kim is on the list of targets.

Manchester United or Newcastle United for Kim Min-jae?

In our view, Manchester United would be more appealing to Kim Min-jae than Newcastle United.

Manchester United are arguably the biggest club of England and will play in the UEFA Champions League next season.

And under Ten Hag, the Red Devils will be aiming to challenge for the Premier League title in the coming years.

Yes, Newcastle will play in Europe’s premier club competition next season and have grand plans for the future under PIF, but Manchester United have a better chance of winning major trophies.

Kim is 26 now and his best years are ahead of him.
