Graham Roberts told Harry Winks that he wishes him ‘every success’ after he left Tottenham Hotspur to join Championship side Leicester City.
The Tottenham legend pointed out on Twitter how Harry Winks is a ‘huge Spurs fan’ after being with the club of his life since he was a young child.
But all of that has now come to an end and Roberts added that there have been ‘some great times’ with the midfield technician, especially under Mauricio Pochettino.
From scoring his first senior goal under Pochettino to reaching the Champions League final, there were some serious chapters Winks wrote at Hotspur Way.
But the 27-year-old’s time is now up, and after spending last season out on-loan in Serie A, he has now found a permanent home with relegated Leicester in England’s second-tier.
Roberts wrote the following message to the Spurs academy product.
“Wishing Harry Winks every success in the future. Some great times with the club under Poch and a huge Spurs fan, who has been at the club since 8. Good luck, Harry.”
Harry Winks can bounce back
The best years of Winks are still ahead of him and he still has every chance to get back to his best, which saw him previously earn caps under Gareth Southgate for England.
Of course, in order for it to happen, Leicester need to earn promotion to the Premier League, at the first time of asking, and they have every chance.
Signings such as Winks, his experience and the level he has played are surely too good for what the Championship has to offer.
