Fabrizio Romano has said that Matheus Franca is really excited at the prospect of joining Mauricio Pochettino’s Chelsea.
The Italian journalist has told GiveMeSport that Chelsea want to sign Matheus Franca from Flamengo in the summer transfer window.
Romano has added that the 19-year-old attacking midfielder himself is keen on a move to Chelsea.
The Daily Mail reported earlier this month that Chelsea want to secure the services of the Brazilian playmaker in a £25 million deal.
Romano said: “Matheus Franca is really appreciated. He is a player that they have been following for a long time.
“I can mention that the player will be really excited about the possibility of joining Chelsea.”
Should Chelsea sign Matheus Franca for £25 million?
That Matheus Franca is excited at the prospect of playing for Chelsea is very encouraging for the former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners.
It shows that the Brazil Under-20 international playmaker would love to play for Chelsea and would do his best for the Blues.
However, £25 million is a lot of money to pay for a 19-year-old who is playing for a club in Brazil.
Now, of course, there is no doubt regarding the talent and potential that Franca has, but could Chelsea not find a similar attacking midfielder for the same price who is more experienced and has already proven himself at the highest level?
