Chelsea winger Noni Madueke claims he will ‘make sure’ that Liverpool target Levi Colwill doesn’t leave the club this summer.

Liverpool may want Chelsea defender Levi Colwill but teammate Noni Madueke is pushing him to stay in West London.

England’s Under-21 side took centre stage on Saturday evening as they faced Spain in the finals of the Under-21 European Championships.

Curtis Jones won it for England as his goal on the stroke of half-time clinched a 1-0 win in Batumi.

There was late drama as Colwill gave away an injury-time penalty, but James Trafford produced a stunning double-save to give England the win.

The celebrations started as England fans, players and staff went wild in Georgia – including Colwill and Madueke.

Colwill played the full 90 minutes for England whilst Chelsea teammate Madueke came off the bench.

Both players were buzzing to have clinched that final win, and the celebrations even included a snippet about Colwill’s future.

Noni Madueke will ‘make sure’ Levi Colwill stays at Chelsea

Colwill took to Instagram after the final whistle and asked Madueke for a comment following England’s win.

Madueke said ‘we’re both coming back’, before adding that he will ‘make sure’ that Colwill is a Chelsea player next season.

Colwill spent last season on loan at Brighton and Hove Albion, cementing himself as one of the top young defenders in England.

Now heading back to Chelsea, Colwill understandably wants first-team action and speculation suggests he could leave if the Blues don’t play him.

Liverpool are prime suitors for Colwill, with Football London claiming that they have enquired about him ‘multiple times’.

The Reds even made a move in the last few days, seemingly pushing to tempt Chelsea into a sale.

Madueke is seemingly confident that Colwill won’t be leaving for Liverpool or anywhere else, but much will depend on Mauricio Pochettino’s plans for the defender.
