Arnaut Danjuma is now wanted by Arne Slot at Feyenoord after leaving Tottenham Hotspur this summer.
Tottenham Hotspur have chosen not to keep Arnaut Danjuma and he could end up joining Arne Slot at Feyenoord.
That is according to a report from De Telegraaf, who report that Feyenoord are chasing a loan deal for Danjuma.
The 26-year-old is back with Villarreal this summer after his loan spell with Tottenham Hotspur came to an end.
Danjuma only started one Premier League game after joining Spurs on loan in January, managing just 163 minutes of league action.
Spurs have chosen not to sign Danjuma permanently and with his Villarreal future unclear, Feyenoord are offering an escape route.
Arne Slot could sign Danjuma after Tottenham move broke down
Feyenoord won the Eredivisie title and are now preparing for the Champions League, meaning they want impact players like Danjuma.
The Dutchman hasn’t featured in the Netherlands since leaving NEC Nijmegen for Club Brugge back in 2018.
A move to Feyenoord could appeal to Danjuma and that would give him the chance to play for Arne Slot.
Tottenham actually targeted a move to make Slot their new manager over the summer before a U-turn.
Slot claimed that he decided to snub Tottenham and stay with Feyenoord after such a memorable campaign.
That isn’t mirrored inside Tottenham, with Sky Sports reporter Rob Dorsett claiming that it was Spurs who backed away due to the compensation needed to land Slot.
Dorsett added that there is ‘bad blood’ on both sides of this situation with Spurs allegedly feeling used by Slot to land a new deal at Feyenoord.
Tottenham have since appointed Ange Postecoglou, who seemingly doesn’t want to sign Danjuma after his loan move, and that could lead the Dutch international to join Slot.
Tottenham are backing Manor Solomon over Arnaut Danjuma
Spurs have decided to move on from Danjuma and are closing in on signing another winger instead.
Israel International Manor Solomon is understood to have completed a medical with Spurs on Monday ahead of completing a move to North London.
Solomon will be relied upon to offer competition down the left flank, rivalling Son Heung-min.
That would have been Danjuma’s role and rather than cough up a considerable fee and wages for a player who made little impact on loan, Spurs are going in another direction.
Solomon is younger and cheaper, so Tottenham are backing him top develop into a solid contributor and leaving Danjuma to seek another move.
