Alan Brazil says Jurrien Timber’s ACL injury for Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal is a ‘nightmare’.

The news Arsenal fans didn’t want to hear and that’s one of their standout summer signings, Jurrien Timber, before he could get his engine going, suffering a long-term injury.

The versatile defender, in the games that he did play, looked so good, with former striker Alan Brazil describing it as a ‘major blow’, as he told talkSPORT (17/08/23 at 6:50 am).

Given the nature of the injury, it probably means that Arsenal fans won’t see their £38 million signing (Sky Sports) again this season – Alex Zinchenko reacted to the news.

Even if Timber returns by the end of the campaign, given the nature of these injuries, he will only be half-cooked and nowhere near his best.

Nonetheless, when Brazil heard about that Timber blow, this is how he reacted.

“Arsenal defender Timber is set to undergo knee surgery,” said Brazil. “Oh, it’s a nightmare. It’s a major blow to Arteta and the Gunners.

“Although, Manchester City have just lost de Bruyne, haven’t they?!”

Arsenal to bring in Timber replacement?

Mikel Arteta and Co. have a big call to make because Timber was supposed to play a huge role for the team this season.

And rather than looking from within, it seems as though Arsenal are looking to bring somebody in via the transfer market, with claims that they are going to push for Manchester United target, Benjamin Pavard, who is out of favour at Bayern Munich.

Yes, Manchester City have lost Kevin de Bruyne, but he will be back by 2024 and Pep Guardiola has millions and millions worth of talent on the bench, so he can afford to lose even such a key player like the Belgian star, whereas Arsenal simply can’t.
