Cristian Romero has told Bryan Gil ‘we are waiting for you’ after the Tottenham Hotspur winger’s injury was confirmed by the club.
Tottenham announced on Instagram that Bryan Gil, after his loan spell at Sevilla, has undergone surgery to fix a problem with his groin.
It now means that he will spend some time on the sidelines, according to some it might be two months, but no official timeframe has been put on it.
One thing is for sure, the Nuno Espirito Santo signing is getting support from his fellow teammates, with Cristian Romero telling him that he is already waiting for him, as he posted via his Instagram story.
It may not be working out in Spurs colours for Gil, but with Sevilla last season, the £22 million player (Sky Sports) secured Europa League glory to showcase to the fans what he is all about.
That’s why this recent injury is just an untimely blow for the player, with World Cup-winner Romero sending him the following message.
“Come on a friend,” wrote Romero. “We are waiting for you.”
Does Gil have a future at Tottenham?
By the time Gil returns to action, Spurs will be at least a few months into the season, it seems, and it’s going to be interesting to see where they will be at.
Will Harry Kane still be at the club? Will Ange Postecoglou shut off the outside noise and actually over-achieve with this Spurs side?
And will Gil himself have a future? Antonio Conte was quick to loan him out upon his arrival, but it’s worth noting that the Spanish star suits Postecoglou’s style far better.
