Darren Ambrose has seemingly expressed his relief that Antonio Conte and Jose Mourinho are no longer at Tottenham Hotspur.

The former Premier League midfielder, who is a boyhood Tottenham fan, claimed that when the duo were at the club they acted like ‘they were doing Spurs a favour’.

Added to that, Ambrose also thinks that Antonio Conte and Jose Mourinho also displayed the vibes that they were ‘bigger’ than Tottenham, with Daniel Levy sacking them both.

But, after only a short space of time, Ange Postecoglou has wiped all of that negative feeling away and Ambrose is loving it, as he told talkSPORT.

Spurs are unbeaten after four Premier League games, but most importantly for the fans, they are playing a brand of football that has got them excited again.

That’s why Mourinho and Conte took so much stick during their time at club, as the fans believe they are getting back to their old selves.

“He (Postecoglou) wants to be at Tottenham,” said Ambrose. “The other two you mentioned. Mourinho and Conte. They seemed like they were doing Sprurs a favour, in terms of ‘we are bigger than Tottenham’.

“He loves being here. I haven’t seen a reaction, you had Harry Redknapp and Pochettino, but since Terry Venables, that has got the supporters so on side. I was like six or seven when they won the FA Cup. It was that long ago against Nottingham Forest.

“I haven’t seen a reaction, in the public domain, since him, to be honest.

Can Postecoglou keep Spurs going?

It needs to be remembered that whilst Levy told both Mourinho and Conte to pack their bags, the now-Roma boss did get the team to a League Cup final before he was sacked, whilst Conte, this time last season, had Spurs flying.

So, from that perspective, there is still a long way to go for Postecoglou because the real test will come when his team take a few blows.

That’s when the Treble-winning boss at Celtic will really find out about his club, as well as how much Levy backs him when he wants to boot a few people out.
