Liverpool and Newcastle United are back in the hunt for Bournemouth defender Lloyd Kelly after Tottenham Hotspur missed out.
Bournemouth will soon face further interest in defender Lloyd Kelly with Liverpool and Newcastle United back in the hunt.
That is according to 90Min, who claim that Liverpool and Newcastle United are back in the hunt for Kelly.
Liverpool have liked Kelly since his Bristol City days, identifying him as a target before his 2019 move to Bournemouth.
Bournemouth boss at that time was Eddie Howe, who is now Newcastle United manager.
Howe still liking Kelly is no great surprise having hailed him as ‘outstanding’ back in 2020.
Liverpool and Newcastle could now make moves for Kelly in January with Bournemouth seemingly bracing themselves for interest.

Lloyd Kelly makes sense for Liverpool
Even if you take the long-term interest out of the equation, Kelly ticks the boxes for Liverpool.
The 24-year-old has plenty of senior experience under his belt but still has untapped potential at 24.
Kelly is homegrown as well but his main appeal will be as a left-sided defender.
Kelly has played as a left back or centre back and that versatility could be vital for Jurgen Klopp.
Moving Trent Alexander-Arnold into midfield would ideally mean Liverpool’s left back shifting inside to create a back three.
That isn’t the best usage of Andrew Robertson, so adding somebody like Kelly would make perfect sense if Klopp wants to continue with this Alexander-Arnold experiment.

Tottenham may now miss out
Tottenham may well be kicking themselves.
Spurs made Kelly a key target in the final stages of the transfer window but Bournemouth just didn’t have time to find a replacement.
TalkSPORT’s Alex Crook reported that a £20million bid was rejected and Tottenham then went completely quiet as they failed to launch a new bid.
Maybe if they had tried earlier, Kelly would be a Tottenham player now and not becoming a prime target for Liverpool and Newcastle.
Tottenham may return for Kelly in January but they will now face a major battle for his signature.
