West Ham United are back in the hunt for Bournemouth striker Dominic Solanke ahead of the January transfer window.

Dominic Solanke is once again wanted by West Ham United as David Moyes chases a new striker in January.

That is according to The Mirror, who claim that West Ham are coming back in for Solanke’s signature.

West Ham allowed Gianluca Scamacca to leave over the summer but didn’t bring in a direct replacement.

Michail Antonio isn’t the force he was, Danny Ings hasn’t made an impact since joining from Aston Villa and Divin Mubama is still just a prospect.

West Ham United want Dominic Solanke

The Mirror claim that West Ham are now poised to rekindle their interest in a deal for Bournemouth hitman Dominic Solanke.

It’s stated that West Ham did actually make a ‘formal approach’ to sign Solanke in July.

Bournemouth sent them packing and even rejected an offer worth up to £40million for their star striker.

West Ham are coming back in for Solanke but Bournemouth will be in no mood to sell.

The Cherries need to secure their Premier League safety this season and Solanke will be absolutely vital to those hopes.

West Ham would surely need to pay well over £40million for Solanke in January, which just doesn’t seem likely.

Solanke really kicking on after Liverpool exit

It’s not difficult to remember a time when Solanke was a laughing stock.

Liverpool sold Solanke to Bournemouth for £19million in January 2019, a fee which many couldn’t quite believe.

Solanke ended the season with no goals in 10 games, then scored just four times in 36 outings in the 2019-20 season.

The former Chelsea man started to find his feet with 45 goals across two Championship campaign before scoring six Premier League goals last season.

Solanke already had six Premier League goals in 12 outings this season, really developing into the play many expected him to become earlier in his career.

Now 26, Solanke may well have some suitors but West Ham will have to dig very, very deep to thrash out a deal.
