Leeds United continue to march on in their quest to make an instant return to the Premier League.

The first few weeks of the season for Leeds United and Daniel Farke weren’t exactly what they wanted, but they are now really starting to step it up.

Some of the key players for Leeds have been January capture Georginio Rutter, summer signing Joel Piroe, the returning Dan James and the all-action Crysencio Summerville

Well, after Leeds secured an entertaining 3-2 win over Middlesbrough on Saturday, Michael Dawson stated that the above four players are ‘unplayable’, as he told Sky Sports Football (02/12/23 at 5:55 pm).

For the second time this week, Daniel Farke’s side fell behind very early on, but minutes later Dan James levelled, before Crysencio Summerville had the home side 2-1 up after seven minutes.

Another entertaining game at Elland Road, with Joel Piroe and Latte Lath adding to the scores before the break.

That’s why Michael Dawson described it as ‘one of the best’ first-half games he has seen this season.

Leeds United’s attack in the Championship

“The first half was one of the best first halves I have seen all season,” said Dawson. “It was end-to-end. It was like a basketball game.

“They are free-flowing. You look at Rutter, Piroe, Dan James and Summerville. They are electric. They are unplayable, at times. They create chances like you won’t believe.”

Can Leeds United chase down Ipswich and Leicester?

If anyone can do it, then it’s Leeds because of the power they have in their team and the goals in their forward line.

After 19 games, the gap between the Whites and second-placed Ipswich Town is eight points and nine on the leaders, Leicester City.

This December period is going to say and dictate a lot in the club’s quest to make that instant return to the top tier and you would back them to do so.

Just like the summer transfer window, a lot will also depend on what happens in January, with clubs sniffing around Summerville.
