Clinton Morrison has praised Tottenham Hotspur wing-back pair Destiny Udogie and Pedro Porro after they caused Burnley ‘so many problems’ in an FA Cup tie on Friday.
Spurs scraped through to the fourth round of the FA Cup after a 1-0 win thanks to Porro. He put Ange Postecoglou’s side in the hat for the next stage with a stunning strike. The 24-year-old broke the deadlock with their 78th-minute winner with a precise shot from 25 yards out.
Porro won possession off Ameen Al-Dakhil with acres of space to attack after Burnley failed to break away at Tottenham. Dejan Kulusevski was also on hand with plenty of space on the wing to offer the right-back support. But Porro took aim and perfectly found the top corner.

It was the two-cap Spain international’s first goal of the season in his 20th appearance in all competitions. Porro has often given Tottenham a creative presence under Postecoglou with seven assists. He also has five assists over the defender’s last nine Premier League games.
Porro could easily have ended Friday night with another assist in his account as Tottenham’s most creative weapon in the FA Cup against Burnley, too. The Don Benito native delivered a host of inviting crosses and led the third-round clash with three key passes, per WhoScored.
But Udogie also delighted Morrison from the other side of Tottenham’s defence at home to Burnley. The 21-year-old offered two key passes for the second-most in the FA Cup affair in north London. But his energetic efforts shone through more often in the defensive phases.

Udogie made a number of important actions throughout the left-hand channel to frustrate Burnley in Tottenham’s narrow FA Cup win. His partnership with Brennan Johnson was also particularly pleasing for Postecoglou with South Korea star Son Heung-Min at the Asia Cup.
Postecoglou gave Udogie his 18th appearance of the 2023/24 season on Friday with his FA Cup debut. And the 21-year-old’s work delighted Morrison, who cited Udogie and Porro as Tottenham’s most dangerous duo against Burnley in Friday’s FA Cup third-round encounter.
“Tottenham’s full-backs, Udogie and Porro, will be crucial in this second half,” Morrison told BBC Radio 5 Live. “Everything positive going forward seems to go through them – inverting into [the] midfield at times. They cause so many problems.”
