Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur are having a very good season.
Tottenham Hotspur may not be able to win a major trophy this season, but they could end up in the UEFA Champions League places.
Spurs are fifth in the Premier League table at the moment with 53 points from 28 games. The North London club are three points behind Aston Villa, who are fourth and have played 29 games.
Tottenham have a very good strong team and have a good balance between experienced players and youngsters.
One of the youngsters who has become an important player in Ange Postecoglou’s team is Brennan Johnson. Signed from Nottingham Forest in the summer of 2023, the 22-year-old Wales international forward often starts or makes an impact off the bench.
While Johnson may not be the finished article yet, he has shown a lot of promise at Spurs already. The youngster has scored four goals and given six assists in 28 matches in all competitions for Tottenham this season.
TalkSPORT pundit Tony Cascarino rates Johnson highly, but the former Chelsea striker believes that the Tottenham forward still needs to improve and get better.
Tony Cascarino gives his verdict on Tottenham Hotspur forward Brennan Johnson
Cascarino said on talkSPORT (7:21 am, March 19, 2024): “It’s a club that has a style of play that I believe is the right way for them to go.
“If you look at their transfers and how people like Van de Ven have done, which has been brilliant. They brought in a few, Jeff. Hopefully Richarlison can get back into the team and continue his form before he got injured.
“So, there are good things at Spurs. I hope Brennan Johnson will improve. There is a lot of improvement needed from him. He is a good player, but he can be far better.”
My View: Brennan Johnson will improve
In my opinion, Tottenham Hotspur and Wales international forward Brennan Johnson will improve.
After all, Johnson is 22 now. He is still developing and progressing as a player. I think that if the former Nottingham Forest player continues to work hard in training and adds more facets to his game, then he will improve.
Tottenham are playing wonderful attacking football. Johnson has been a beneficiary of that. What he needs to do is make better decisions when he has the ball and improve his finishing.
