» » » 'I'd always play him': Ian Wright warns Arsenal that Liverpool 24-year-old will have 'big say' in title race

Liverpool were the winners from the recent round of Premier League fixtures after Arsenal’s goalless draw at Manchester City.

Nobody knows what to make of that Arsenal performance and whether it’s dropped points or a point gained for Mikel Arteta’s men.

Either way, Jurgen Klopp will have a massive smile on his face because it’s his team sitting on top of the tree.

It wasn’t easy, but Liverpool had to come from behind to beat Brighton and they are now nine games away from giving their manager the perfect send-off.

You assume the usual suspects are going to have their say in this three-way tussle to become champions of England.

From the free-scoring machine Mohamed Salah to the ice-cool Virgil van Dijk.

But Ian Wright thinks it’s going to be Darwin Nunez who will have a ‘big’ and ‘positive’ say in the title race during these coming weeks, as he told Premier League Productions (01/04/24 at 2:35 pm).

The 24-year-old is Mr Chaotic by name and nature. You just know that if he is on one, then he will rip any team apart.

With Arsenal sitting second, they are going to need those from Merseyside dropping points from their remaining nine matches.

Whatever happens, Wright is backing Nunez to cause issues, as he also stated that he would play the 24-year-old at all times.

Darwin Nunez in the Premier League title race

“I just look at Liverpool, my guy Nunez, who I believe is going to have a big say towards the end of the season,” said Wright.

“Positive (say in the title race). We can’t guess what he’s going to do. He is chaotic in the way he plays. If he is playing, like I said, I would never take him off. He would always play.”

Midweek games

For Liverpool and Arsenal, they play pretty straightforward fixtures, and that is on home soil.

Sheffield United and Luton Town are their respective opponents. Yes, these two relegation-threatened sides are going to claw and scrap as much as they can.

But you expect maximum points from the title chasers, with Manchester City facing Aston Villa in their respective game.

This is where Pep Guardiola could watch his team drop further points because Villa have been the fourth-best team in the league this season.
