Arne Slot is officially in the building at Liverpool.

The Jurgen Klopp era is over and a new chapter begins at Anfield, with many excited to see what their new manager will bring.

All eyes will be on the 2024 summer transfer window, which officially opens next month, with the returning Michael Edwards hoping to be as successful as his first spell.

Many fans know how the Liverpool transfer guru operates, he doesn’t go and purchase the big and proven names.

Usually, it’s those under-the-radar signings that are brought in, such as Sadio Mane, Andy Robertson and Gini Wijnaldum, to name a few, all now some of Klopp’s best signings.

Before those players were turned into world-class stars by Klopp, now it’s Slot’s turn to showcase that he can do that.

Therefore, it’s no surprise that Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo has been suggested in the transfer rumour mill, which has excited Tony Cascarino.

Sources have told HITC that the likes of Liverpool, and other Premier League clubs, have been made aware of the Cameroon international’s availability.

The former striker stated that he ‘loves it’ and has backed the idea of Mbeumo making the switch to Anfield this summer, as he told talkSPORT (02/06/24 at 8:50 am).

Cascarino highlighted Mbeumo’s ‘durability’, speed in his game and how you can use the French-born star in ‘different ways’.

Bryan Mbeumo transfer to Liverpool?

“Yes, absolutely, love it,” said Cascarino. “I mentioned him over the course of the season.

“If you are going to lose Bryan Mbeumo. What is he now? 24 or 25? I love his pace. I love his directness. I love his goal contributions. He’s got loads of time (to improve). He is a similar sort of age when Salah joined Liverpool.

“I love him. He is durable as well. I know he got injured this year, but normally, he has been reliable and you can use him in different ways. A good finisher.”

The 24-year-old still has his best years ahead of him, so it wouldn’t be a surprise if Liverpool do push for him and Slot has him in his ranks.

Mbeumo did miss several months through injury this season, so he was only limited to 25 Premier League matches.

Despite that, he still managed to score nine goals and supply six assists. After scoring the same amount the previous campaign and providing eight assists.

It also needs to be remembered that he plays across the front three and isn’t always the main man because of Ivan Toney.
