Ever since Chelsea won the Champions League in 2021, they have gone backwards on the field of play and are now unrecognisable.
Roman Abramovich used to chop and change managers for fun, but the difference is that he used to win trophy after trophy.
Chelsea are now losing more finals than they are winning trophies, which sums up their fall from grace and need to get back to the top again.
For that to happen, those world stars need to come in and Euro 2024 was packed full of them.
Euro 2024 record-breaker for Spain Lamine Yamal was perhaps the shining light. Nobody is touching him, as Barcelona have found their next superstar.
The 17-year-old, who became the youngest goalscorer in European Championship history (16 years and 362 days), was perhaps the best player in the tournament and that’s incredible to say given his age.
Yamal supplied four assists during the tournament, including in the final against England to set up Nico Williams for the opener.
The only man the rising teenager outperformed, in that regard, was Dutch superstar, Xavi Simons.
Holland were beaten by England in the semi-final of Euro 2024, with Simons, who is being targeted by Premier League clubs, opening the scoring.
Simons supplied three assists and scored one goal (FBREF) to put his name up in the lights even further.

Sources have told HITC that Chelsea are big fans of Simons, but the £50 million eyes a different club and that’s Barcelona.
Look at the impact Cole Palmer made at Stamford Bridge in his debut campaign. The thought of those two starting together would be incredible.
Nobody knows how much of a say new Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca will have on new signings, but Simons fits the bill.
Xavi Simons is ready to step up
The 21-year-old is officially a Paris Saint-Germain player, but he was on loan at RB Leipzig last term and was previously on the books at Barcelona.

Simons has been under some big spotlights, so there’s no reason why he can’t play for one of the big boys in the Premier League.
You feel it’s time for the next batch of superstars to show what they are all about and Simons can certainly be a part of that.
