West Ham United are starting to make moves in the transfer market and shape their squad for the new Premier League season.

In recent campaigns, West Ham fans have been used to their team competing in Europe, but their midweeks will be empty after their struggles in David Moyes’ final season.

Those poor results and the very much criticised style of play were one of many reasons why Moyes left the club.

The Hammers now begin a new chapter under Julen Lopetegui and he has already made his mark in the transfer market.

West Ham have signed Max Kilman from Wolves and there could be the possibility that wholesale changes are made to their backline.

After all, they conceded 74 goals last season, and only the three relegated clubs shipped more, which goes to show the problems the team faced.

There is no better way to try and fix that than by adding one of the best one-v-one defenders to their ranks this summer.

Stuart Pearce was told of West Ham’s interest in Manchester United right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka and how he could move on this summer.

The 26-year-old helped Manchester United win the FA Cup last season – he played the entire game at right-back as Manchester City were beaten in the final.

And now Pearce thinks the former Crystal Palace player would be a ‘really good’ signing for the West London outfit, as he told talkSPORT.

“I think (Wan-Bissaka) it would be a really good move for both club and player,” responded Pearce to Wan-Bissaka possibly joining West Ham.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka would enhance West Ham’s backline

There are question marks over what the former England U21 star produces going forward, but you can’t deny his brilliance in his own defensive third.

With someone like Jarrod Bowen ahead of him, the Euro 2024 star would be given more freedom to showcase his brilliance and express himself in the final third.

Yes, many talk about West Ham’s lack of speed, bite and creative nature not being expressed in the final third.

But if they don’t have that firm base, then they won’t be going anywhere fast next season and you know Wan-Bissaka has the tools to improve their backline.
