Kai Havertz is already up and running after he helped Arsenal record an opening-day Premier League win against Wolves.

The Germany international had a mixed Euro 2024, with his team getting knocked out by eventual winners Spain and failing to deliver the trophy on their homeland.

Rewind back to 12 months ago and Havertz was told that he was going to ‘flop’ at Arsenal, but it didn’t take him long to shut his critics up.

Now, Havertz scored the first goal of Arsenal‘s 2024/25 Premier League campaign by netting a brilliant-headed goal following a well-weighted cross by Bukayo Saka.

The Hale-End star then doubled his side’s lead, as Mikel Arteta’s men began with three points ahead of their trip to Villa Park at the weekend.

Arsenal narrowly missed out on the Premier League title to Manchester City last season and if they are to get over the line, then certain players need to stay fit.

One of the first names on the teamsheet is Saka and he was lauded by Havertz after his side’s win against Wolves.

The England international was dubbed ‘unbelievable’ by his teammate and how ‘there aren’t a lot of players like him on the planet’, as he told Sky Sports News.

At the age of 22, Saka is showing a serious amount of consistency. He scored 16 goals and supplied nine assists last term, following on from 14 goals and 11 assists before that, and 11 goals and nine assists when he was still a teenager.

That’s why Havertz was singing his praises and how Saka can still improve and take his game to a much higher level.

“He’s unbelievable,” said Havertz. “I think there aren’t a lot of players like him on the planet. He is still so young.

“In every action, he looks dangerous and he’s young. He can still get better. It’s very rare to see a very young player performing like this on the highest level every week. We are all very happy with him.”

Saka’s fitness levels are to be applauded because he hardly misses any games and rarely ever rests.

But you feel some sort of cover for the left-footed star needs to come in before the summer transfer window slams shut at the end of the month.

Pedro Neto secured a transfer to Chelsea from Wolves. He was a player that would have been ideal for the north London club.

But perhaps Neto’s injury troubles of the past played a part in Arsenal not even considering a move for the winger, but they still need to shop for a player of that ilk.
