According to journalist Dean Jones in GiveMeSport, Chelsea head coach Mauricio Pochettino “rates” Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez and “would like to work with” his Argentine compatriot, described as “perfect” by former Manchester United midfielder Owen Hargreaves on BT Sport 1 (2:27pm, December 13, 2021).
Jones has added that the £184,000-a-week (SalarySport) Argentina international striker, who won the 2022 Qatar World Cup, is “very open-minded about a transfer into the Premier League this summer”.

In our opinion, if Chelsea are on the hunt for a new striker in the summer transfer window, then they should make a bid for Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez.
Martinez may cost a lot of money, but he would be a very good signing for Chelsea, not just for now, but for years to come as well.
The 25-year-old is one of the best strikers in the world and is a prolific goalscorer.
Martinez scored 21 goals and gave six assists in 27 Serie A starts for Inter last season.
The Argentina international striker also scored three goals and provided three assists in 12 UEFA Champions League starts for the Italian club last season, as the Serie A outfit reached the final of Europe’s premier club competition.
In 2021-22, Martinez scored 21 goals and gave three assists in 28 Serie A starts, while in 2020-21, the striker scored 17 goals and provided six assists in 30 Serie A starts.
